Rooted (The Kava Song)
Rooted (The Kava Song) is an original kava anthem by It’s Muddy Mike featuring Savage Rootz and Charlie CB, filmed at SquareRut Kava Bar in Austin, Texas - the first kava bar to open in the state.
The song and video bridge the gap between the modern kava bar experience and traditional Polynesian mix culture, in which Samoan, Tongan, Fijian, and other South Pacific Islanders (but especially those currently living in America) get together with close family and friends to "mix" a.k.a. enjoy kava and each other's company.
Rooted speaks to the common threads between each culture in which community, love, connection, and acceptance reign supreme.
Getting "rooted" is the classic American-born term (primarily used in kava bar culture) to describe the relaxed, grounded, and self/socially connected feeling you get when consuming kava.
So whether you're literally living in the birthplace of kava (the South Pacific Islands), you're Polynesian, you're an American kava bar/culture veteran, you're new to kava, or this is your first time ever hearing about it, we hope you'll get "rooted" with us!
Bula ("to health and happiness" in Fijian)
